Is it worth putting studs on winter tires?

October 25, 2024

On icy or deep snow surfaces, studs greatly increase the friction between the tire and the road surface. The studs can be embedded in the ice or compacted snow to provide an extra point of contact for the vehicle. For example, on mountain roads in cold northern regions where winter roads are often covered with snow and ice, tires fitted with anti-skid studs are able to grip the ground better, making the vehicle more stable when climbing or descending slopes and reducing the risk of skidding.

If you live in an area where most of the snow is thin and melts before it hits the ground, then winter tires are a good choice. However, if your vehicle encounters snow, even on a weekend trip to the ski slopes, you'll need anti skid studs to improve your on-road safety.

Our anti-skid tire studs JX9-14-1 and JX8-14-1, with diameter and height of 9.0*14mm and 8.0*14mm respectively, are suitable for cars, trucks, forklifts and off-road vehicles. If you need it you can contact us for inquiry.
